A New Chapter for the Ayurvedic Living Institute:

Whether you feel called to nourish others, step into a new professional chapter, or simply reconnect with your own body and purpose, food is where healing begins.
This professional-level training gives you the practical skills and deep perspective needed to align daily food with genuine healing, joy, and meaning.
Join us in India to study the art of Ayurvedic nutrition, step into the kitchen, and return home with the confidence to cook nutritional Ayurvedic meals for others.
Now Enrolling! Training Runs February 15–24, 2027!
Food is our most foundational medicine. Yet, learning how to apply it across different bodies, changing seasons, and complex health challenges requires more than just recipes—it requires both deep intuition and practical training.
This 10-day intensive is designed to deliver comprehensive, professional-level culinary training while keeping you rooted in the heart of traditional Ayurvedic practice.
Over the course of approximately 40 hours of classroom study and hands-on kitchen work, you will learn how to design, source, and cook restorative Ayurvedic meals for individuals, families, and wellness retreats.
Guided by Kate O’Donnell and supported by local culinary leaders, you will bridge the gap between ancient dietary texts and the practical realities of modern food preparation. At the end of the training, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Ayurvedic Living Institute to support your path as a practitioner, chef, or educator.
Rooted in Local Wisdom
A distinct highlight of our time together is the opportunity to learn from locals and work with traditional ingredients.
We’ll be welcomed into the kitchen by Sahana of Rasayana Mysore Kitchen and her mother, who will share their deep knowledge of traditional ingredients.
Together we’ll explore:
The Ayurvedic Classification of Food: Master how to assess ingredients according to taste, potency, and post-digestive effect
Therapeutic Actions & Physiology: Understand the precise physiological processes triggered by different foods, and how they impact the doshas and dhatus
Complex Nutritional Needs: Build a practical toolkit for real-world culinary situations, learning how to menus for individuals with specific therapeutic concerns.
Bulk Prep & Retreat Formatting: Learn the logistics of planning and preparing bulk Ayurvedic meals for large groups without sacrificing energetic or nutritional integrity.
Walk away with the confidence to step into any kitchen, look at any basket of ingredients, and create deeply restorative meals.
