The Art & Science of Ayurvedic Cleansing

There are 7 types of tissue.

Seven distinct types of tissue (dhatus) in the body. The root of the word dhatu means “that which holds.” Dhatus maintain the structure of the body:

  1. plasma

  2. red blood

  3. muscle

  4. fat

  5. bone

  6. nerves

  7. reproductive tissue.

Let’s go deeper.

The first four tissue types are superficial, while the latter three are internal, or deep in the body.

The body’s physicality holds its shape, while so many of its processes are dynamic, moving and transforming within that shape. The tissue types exist in relationship to each other, which means if you end up with too much of one, you are then likely to have too little of another. Resources may be used up by one tissue layer, leaving another without.

For example, picture an athlete who doesn’t eat enough to keep up with the demands of training. The muscle layer will take all the nutrition and body fat will decrease, eventually causing a deficiency in the next layer as well, the bones. Therefore, if you would like to do a home cleanse, but keep up a strong exercise regimen, you may need to choose from the recipes which I call “building.”

This will allow for the body to cleanse slowly and moderately without missing out on important nutrition. Those who wish to purify and have time to rest during a cleanse, or are in need of weight loss, can choose from the recipes I call “reducing.”

Taking care to maintain equilibrium of the bodily tissues ensures a healthy state, which is why the art of balancing building and reducing in the diet is so important.

The Anytime Home Cleanse can help you create a system of checks-and-balances through daily routines and food choices that will support you in everything that you need to do in your daily life, including keep your body clean and healthy.
